A spec-sheet style print of the BMW R45 (1983, chassis code KR3). Launched in 1978 as one of BMW's smaller entry-level boxer twins alongside the R65, the air-cooled R45 offered an accessible way into BMW's boxer range during a period when Japanese inline-fours dominated the market. Its understressed, torquey engine and simple mechanicals made it a popular, durable commuter and learner bike, and surviving examples are now a popular base for cafe racer builds like the one pictured here.
